LIBRARIES FOR PEACE

Aref Ahmadia is an emigrant from Lebenon.  In the 70's, his parents sent him to Marin County to get him out of the violence and civil war in Lebenon and the Middle East.   He learned English, worked hard, and became a successful business man in San Rafael, CA. 

What started in 2008 as a dictionary project and a vision to have all children in Lebenon start their quest for knowledge has blossomed to establishing libraries in Lebenon, (thus raising the education level and breaking the cycle of violence) and PEACE.

Aref is also a Rotarian of the San Rafael Harbor Rotary Club.
