A special presentation on Dec 7, 2009 was arranged through Futton, Inc. and The Rotary Club of San Francisco Chinatown for visiting government officials from Hangzhou Xiaoshan China.  The theme was: "Government, Business, Rotary International, What's the Connection?"

The objective was to introduce Rotary International and volunteerism to members of a Chinese provincial municipality.  The second objective was to introduce some volunteer organizations; ShelterBox, Alliance for Smiles, and Half the Sky and hope that some connections were made. 

Translations were provided by club member Andrew Yu and John Mei of Futton, Inc.

In true Rotary fashion, President Ron Gin present our Club banner to Shi Yingli.

She leaves them materials and a CD in Chinese.  Now that's prepared!

A series of slides were presented on ShelterBox and the 2200 Shelter Boxes sent to Sichuan province.  At $1000 per box, that's $2,200,000 donated to China! 

Monica Lai introduces Half the Sky, a nurturing program for orphanages in China funded through donations. 

Half the Sky has been asked to expand their program in China!
